NotANewCruiser Posted July 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2005 I was just wondering if anyone could give me any information on the brand new (supposedly beautiful) casino on the Star. I will be cruising on the ship in mid august and have heard all the nothing but possitve comments, the only thing I would like to know more about is their casino on board. What limits are the table games, is there a friendly atmosphere and how about the poker tables I heard that were recently added. Any information would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance! johnql Posted July 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2005 The "real" poker tables are not in the casino. They converted a nearby room into a poker room (the room is connected to the main casino). If I recall correctly, there are three poker tables. In the main casino, there's an easel with a board displaying the poker tables that are open or will be open along with their limits and the game being played (Texas Hold 'Em, Stud, etc.). You sign up for a table and they put your name up on the easel. One thing that I didn't like was that they discouraged spectators in the poker room. If you're not seated and playing at one of the tables, you're not supposed to be in there. To me, this discourages interested people from learning the game.
