boogs Posted January 24, 2014 #26 Share Posted January 24, 2014 What happens when TSA wants to have a look at your luggage? They clip them off and replace them with ones they have. I get mine at an electronics supply store which has different colors. I use as obscure a color as I can find, hoping that no one else has the same color so I can instantly tell if my case has been opened and resealed. Even if they don't replace them, it's no big deal. ccletzgo Posted January 24, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 24, 2014 We use cable zip ties from the hardware store on our luggage when boarding and leaving a ship. They can be cut but makes our bags more difficult to break in. Be sure to have nail clippers handy so you can cut them yourself when you need to do so. I do this too..;) and I pull the zip so tight that nothing would fit under it to "cut" it.. The only thing that works is nail clippers that are in my carry on.. I even keep valuables in my room in one of my suit cases with the zip tie.. I think I got this tip years ago from this board..:)
