ISLAND DIVA Posted January 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2014 We are interested in the VA cabins at the stern of the Eurodam.VA 4182 on the upper promenade and VA 5188 on the verandah deck. The concern is how private the balcony is ,can passengers staying in the cabins above see down onto the balcony below?I am trying to remember if the design of the stern is slanted as such. Are the balconies any larger than one in a VE or VF.We had also read that passengers in those cabins experience more noise and vibration than cabins midship. We normally book a VE ,midship cabin.Thank-you in advance for any comments and reviews that will help us make a decision . We had an aft balcony cabin on deck 8 of the Eurodam last August. Yes, you can see down onto the balconies of the cabins below but only the edges of them so you would never see anyone unless they were standing at the rail. I would quite happily take a lower deck cabin any time. The back of the ship is slanted. The balconies would be the same as any other standard balcony, I would imagine, although the corner ones are very large. We did hear some noise at night a couple of nights because we were just below the Lido deck and the crew were moving deck furniture around. We are not usually complainers but we did that time and the noise stopped. :) We heard little other noise but then we were on a high deck. jtl513 Posted January 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Are the balconies any larger than one in a VE or VF.Yes. The current deck 5 VE and VF are 4.5 ft deep. The stern VA and VB on the Signature ships are about 6 ft deep.
seagarsmoker Posted January 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2014 We were in 4180 (next door to 4182) last month on the Eurodam and no one can see down on your balcony. The balcony is bigger than a normal balcony. We have been on the Eurodam twice - aft cabin & suite and no vibration issue for us.
jtl513 Posted January 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2014 Because of the stagger, when you are at the railing you can be seen from above:
