pinecliff76 Posted January 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2014 Props to Carnival for clearing any confusion, their brochure now clearly defines that they will perform same sex weddings. Do you perform same sex marriages? Yes! Some of our ports acknowledge legal same sex wedding ceremonies, we will be happy to assist you.* *Where we can assist, in some ports we can also provide symbolic same sex ceremonies. Please contact our Wedding Department for more information on which ports are available. http://www.carnival.com/~/media/CCLUS/Images/pdf/Weddingspricelistpdf.ashx

When we were planning our wedding we had to jump through quite a few hoops. They would only do a symbolic ceremony if you were legally married somewhere (even if it wasnt legal in your state) and some of their Floridian vendors (specifically Port Canaveral) wouldnt work with same-sex couples. Hooray for progress.

RSVE821 Posted February 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2014 We had our wedding on the Carnival Pride last month on embarkation day at the port of Baltimore. Carnival contracts with a private wedding planning company. The information they provide you is all geared towards straight weddings by way of suggested ceremony, vows and music. We opted to write our own ceremony and provided our own music and they were very accommodating. The officiant they provided (you can bring your own) was very nice and we were her first same sex wedding. We did the 1.5 hour reception and we and our guests were impressed. Kudos to all the Carnival and wedding planning staff for making it a special day and week aboard the cruise. Bob
