bluefzy2 Posted January 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Hi! We'll be in Hawaii in march on poa and will rent a car in Maui, Hilo, and kauai . because we want mostly to travel around and see the main sights on these islands, so we will plan our time pretty good. before planning, i need know when we can get out cruise at ports of call. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
Susan-M Posted January 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2014 i need know when we can get out cruise at ports of call. Not sure if I understand correctly - do you mean what time you can get off the ship at?
bluefzy2 Posted January 28, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 28, 2014 yes. because ncl.com says "disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking."
aussiemandy Posted January 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2014 You can get off as soon as docked, no waiting 2 hours, the quicker you're off the quicker you'll be able to pick up your rental.
goaliedb Posted January 28, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2014 "disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking" refers to docking in HNL when the cruise ends
VideoTech Posted January 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) You can get off the ship as soon as they announce it. Your itinerary tells you the time you have in port...it will say: Kona, arrive 7:00 am, depart 5:30 pm. Usually, you can count on being able to get off the ship about 20 to 30 minutes after arrival. However, the arrival time listed is the "official" time. The distances between these ports are fairly small, and the ship may well arrive earlier than it's "official" time. That doesn't mean you'll be able to get off any earlier, just that you may hear & feel the ship docking at 5 or 6 am when the "official time" is supposed to be 7:00 am. Make sure you're back on board at minimum 30 minutes prior to the official departure time. Edited January 28, 2014 by VideoTech
