whobut Posted July 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2005 Are passports now necessary to get back into the United States from a Caribbean cruise if you are a citizen of the United States?
surrocruiser Posted July 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2005 Birth Certificates and state IDs are OK until I think it is January 2006.
Langdak04 Posted July 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2005 Whobut, Any cruise returning to the United States on or after December 31, 2005 will need a passport. I would highly recommend a passport anyways, regardless of the rules that are being put in place. You never know when you might need one. Hopefully that helps. Cheers!! boxerlovers Posted July 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2005 I would have never known about the new rule with the Passports unless reading this site!! Thanks for that info. I have 3 others who will need to go and get a passport for this next cruise! Julie and Kurt from Wisconsin
Cotton Posted July 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2005 I have a friend at the post office here, and he said more and more folks are scurrying to get their passports. He expects LONG lines and delays toward the end of the year. Don't wait too long, or there could be delays in getting them to you.;)
