Port Everglades pick up

I have a friend that will pick us up at the port after our cruise, but not sure they will let just anyone into the port area.

Will my friend be able to pick me up at Port Everglades to take me to the airport?

Yes, but they will need to stop at the guard shack, tell them where they're going and get a hang tag.

And, be sure that they do not have a weapon in their vehicle.
