Splendor Luggage and Boarding

Cruising on the Splendor leaving from Manhattan on March 9. If you only have one suitcase can you bring it to your room yourself or do you have to check it in with the porters? Can someone give me a quick explanation of the check-in process? Are there bodyscanners or X-rays?

As long as your bag fits in the scanner you can take it. I have heard from someone on our Splendor cruise that they could not take their large suitcase themselves. The porters and people taking your bags(not Carnival) would not let them. NYC was one of the easiest ports we have found to embark in 30 years. We were in the priority lounge and I think the scanners came just before we boarded.

Do you have FTTF or priority status? If not you will have to carry your bag with you until the rooms are done around 1:30 or so.
