Philadelphia to Open Ocean

Just curious. How long does it take to sail down the Delaware River from Philadelphia to the open ocean, past Cape May, New Jersey? I assume that there is a pilot on board for the entire trip. Leave tomorrow for Bermuda.

We were on the July 2 Horizon sailing. I had hoped to follow the progress of the ship down the river and to the mouth of the bay, but the trip took surprisingly long. The ship averaged around 13 knots and it took the better part of 6 hours to make it to the ocean. Our position at 11:30 PM (by my GPS) was exactly 30nm off the coast of Ocean City, MD.
