jacketnation5 Posted February 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2014 We are new to CONQUEST Class and 2.0, How does it work with the Taste Bar? When does it open? Are there lines? Can I get apps to bring to the room for the rest of the family to enjoy? Thanks in Advance...
cruse2loose Posted February 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2014 They have a plate with 2 appetizers from the different places to eat for you to take. You could probably take 2-3 if you'd like. They have different things on different days. Should be listed in the Fun Times. I tried the spiced pumpkin soup. It was delish :) No lines, just go up and get. They will have a sign telling you what the items are
falkcor Posted February 22, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2014 here's info from carnival on the taste bar: http://www.carnival.com/onboard/cruise-food/taste-bar.aspx basically, each night they feature a small hors d'oeuvre inspired by one of the branded venues, like the steakhouse, red frog, blue iguana, etc. they are small hors d'oeuvres, not 'appetizer' size, but you can of course go back for seconds (or thirds!). in my experience i've enjoyed them all. they're typically served on little plates, often with a little cup on them too, like pumpkin soup, and not really intended to be taken back to the room. it's typically open from 5.30-8.30 as a 'stop on the way' or 'snack' before dinner... there is a line but they move very quickly - they are always pre-plating and i've never waited more than 2 or 3 minutes i'd say. i like it and recommend it. also, they typically feature a drink special at the adjacent (typically casino) bar, which is a decent 'happy hour' deal. give it a shot :)
ETski Posted February 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2014 On our recent Splendor cruise the taste bar was only open on Sea Days. Not sure if that is the same on all ships. Tastes were yummy. Great snack since we had late dinner.
agc291 Posted February 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) On the Victory a couple weeks back it was open on the first night, the next night which was a Sea day and then again on the final night. They were open 5-8 and on our sailing offered 2 small dishes from Cucina del Capitano, Blue Iguana Cantina, and Red Frog Pub. I liked what we were served but everything was served with a toothpick. None of the options were "Tooth pick friendly" really, especially the small bowl of soup! Edited February 22, 2014 by agc291
shelwoj Posted February 22, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2014 We were on the Conquest last week (sigh, I wish we were still there) and it was in the Fun Times when it would be open and what restaurant it was featuring. It was not open every night but at least three that I can remember. I HIGHLY recommend the Alchemy Bar. Adri, Jovana and Milan are the best. They made our week so much more enjoyable. Don't look at the menu, just tell them what you typically like to drink and they'll hook you up. Enjoy. :)

djhsolara Posted February 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2014 On Splendor it is the former Sushi bar on 5 near the night club. It was only on sea days and the offerings were very tasty. It was a nice little treat during drinks prior to dinner.
