readytolose Posted February 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2014 I remember reading in a review that there is a Sushi Making Class on the Allure. I would love more information about this. Anyone know what day/time? Where to sign up? Price? My husband and I both really love sushi and are looking forward to eating at Izumi while onboard. I think it would add to our experience if we could attend the class as well. Thanks for any help you can give!
readytolose Posted February 23, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Anyone? Maybe I mis-read, and there isn't one?
crookedhalo Posted February 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2014 We had the class on Grandeur this past January. It never appeared in the compass. If you are really interested, I would go to Izumi on the first day and ask. On Grandeur it was limited to 10-14 people and sold out pretty quickly;)
xxoocruiser Posted February 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2014 As previously stated class size is very limited. Cost is either $24.95 or $29.95 per person. Participants get to eat the sushi roll that they made, along with Miso soup and Edamame. For the cost that OP will pay for both her husband and her to take the class they could dine at Izumi and have a complete meal for the same money which IMO would be the better value. readytolose Posted February 25, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted February 25, 2014 Thank you for the replies. My husband has tried making sushi at home (didn't turn out too bad!) so I think we will both enjoy the class. I'll make sure to ask at Izumi on the first day so we don't miss it! crookedhalo Posted February 25, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 25, 2014 Oh as an FYI, you make two rolls of sushi (California & their crispy shrimp roll) and two pieces of nigiri. DH and I enjoyed the class very much (DH is half japanese so I leared to make sushi from my MIL many years ago) and would probably do it again just for the fun:p
