wwicklund Posted July 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2005 I have read and have been told that some ships keep the same time even if they go across a time zone. What does the Rhapsody do? If the Port time says 3pm to 1159pm in Key West, what time zone is this according to? the local time or the ship time, or will the ship time be the local time? Thanks
Boo's Mom Posted July 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2005 During Spring Break....05....this is how RCI handled Key West. A direct Quote: Don't change your watch! Key West is one hour ahead of ship's time, but you should be back at the ship no later than 11:30 pm ship time. **************************************** Be especially mindful of the time situation, if you have booked independent tours. They will be on "port time"...which may not be ship time.
Boo's Mom Posted July 23, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2005 Grand Cayman, also: Quote: Please leave your watches on ship's time for Grand Cayman. The advertised departure time shown on the notice board at the gangway is ship's time and not local time.
wwicklund Posted July 23, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted July 23, 2005 Sounds good, we are booking our own excursions in GC, and renting a car. So I will plan the time accordingly. Is it only an hour dfference in GC?
Boo's Mom Posted July 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2005 I do believe it is one hour. Not 100% though.... and not sure if it was behind or forward. I think Cayman is behind.
wwicklund Posted July 23, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted July 23, 2005 So, we arrive at 700 ship time, what time is it in GC?
Boo's Mom Posted July 24, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2005 Not sure. Don't want to give you the wrong information. My DH is sitting here...trying to figure it out with his Altas. We think....that Grand Cayman is 1 hour ahead of the time on the ship. Yeah...that's our vote. :D
