Sweet and Sour Sauce

On our past cruise I love the Mongolian Wok but do not like the sauces. In October one of the gentlemen at the Wok said he would make me sweet and sour sauce if I would go get him a packet of sugar. I said sure.

 

I gave him the packet of sugar and he added soy sauce and cooked it for about a minute then added my meat and veggies. It was wonderful. I went several more times during the cruise and always had that packet of sugar in my pocket.

 

Funny story was one afternoon was with some friends we were cruising with and they wanted to try the sweet and sour sauce. By the time it was over there were 7 of us having it. When my friend got in line ahead of me and she told them sweet and sour they looked at her really strange. She just pointed to me and they knew exactly what she wanted. She handed him her packet od sugar and they made the sweet and sour sauce.

 

Try it. It really is good. I use the Raw Sugar packet.

Sounds wonderful and I"ll have to give it a try. I love the Mongolian Wok also!

OMG. Can you believe I have never tried the Mongolian Wok:eek:

 

On my To Do List for next cruise for sure.

 

Along with Guy's Burgers, Room Service, Blue Iguana, Alchemy Bar, Steak House 1 night, etc.

 

Glad we have 8 days with only 3 ports of call.:p

 

I'm gonna try the soy sauce and sugar at home. Love Stir Fry and don't use our Wok near enough.

Wonder if all Ships do this or know "The Secret Sauce".
