So glad you started this thread, I haven't sailed yet, but my first one will be the Fantasy and sometimes I get a little freaked out because she is smaller and lacks a lot of what the bigger ships offer. It's nice to see all of the fond memories others have of her! Better late than never!!!

I sailed on the Fantasy back in 2009 right after she got refurbished. For her age she looked great! You will be hooked. After the Fantasy try one of the newer ship such as the Breeze, Magic, Dream or Sunshine.

I STILL think of that ship every time I hear the song "CELEBRATE" by Kool and the Gang............ They played that song at the deck party and I truly thought they played it because we were on the Celebration..........

 

The celebration definitely hooked us - we love cruising!!!

 

Yes, I remember the BLUE FOLDER - what fun receiving that in the mail!!!

Fantasy (loved that ship!)

 

Ours was the Fantasy as well and we also loved the ship. It was a 4 day to the Bahamas back in 1998.

First Carnival ship...Paradise 2009.

 

First Cruise Epirotiki Apollon II 1980.

 

The difference...vast..the fun equal...the times different in so many ways...

 

Paradise...70,367 Gross tons..completed in 1998. Still a beautiful and charmed ship. IMHO.

 

Apollon II....3,824 Gross tons..Originally Irish Coast built in 1953. Went down in 1989 in a typhoon..Epirotiki sold her in 1981.
