I don't understand what it's all about either. Just people with bees in their bonnets. But it's done - Liverpool has got the buildings, the funding and people in this part of the world want to travel from their. Get used to it! It will grow, maybe slowly, but surely!

Who knows what the future holds. You have to ask yourself why did Cunard move to Southampton and are those reasons still valid today?!

Yes they are still valid and would still would be if Liverpool got a few sailings from the city.

This isn't about Liverpool usurping Soton which isn't going to happen. It's about people north of Bimingham having the chance, just a few times to have the convenience of boarding a Cunad ship nearer to their home, something Soton people take for granted.

The Cunard Building is to become the new cruise terminal but has renovation began? It has it's own web site: Cunard Building and even has its own logo - that includes the profile of a ship I might have seen somewhere. ;)

No mention of any renovation there as the site is directed toward potential tenants.

Interesting that the baggage racks are still there in the basement.

Here's the latest update from today's Liverpool Echo - the council has picked up the keys to the building, plans expected to be revealed this summer, and to open next year:
