Smgeordie Posted March 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2014 Will there be enough time to see a few attractions. Do they all close early. We like to explore on self-guided walking tours. Any suggestions?
ThreeDancingMatthews Posted March 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2014 I would also be interested to hear suggestions- it's such an odd time frame. I was planning on doing Celebrity's Biobay excursion, but now that's been cancelled, I'm trying to come up with a backup plan.

jerrib Posted March 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2014 Given your arrival time, your best options are either of the two forts: El Morro and San Cristóbal - Open daily 9-6 (every other building of interest seems to close around 4pm) As they are both high up on the hills, better to start there and walk your way back down. You can take the free trolley which stops at each. Of course all the plazas and monuments can be explored. A good walk back from El Morro would be along the old city walls and onto "Paseo de la Princesca" (a 19th century tree lined esplanade with antique street lights, statues, and benches). A couple of restaurants, parks, artisan stalls etc. along the way. All of it along the water, great views. You'll end up just a couple of blocks away from the downtown cruise piers. Smgeordie Posted March 29, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted March 29, 2014 Thank you for your advice. I am new to cruise critic so I hope you get this reply. Going to the fort first sounds like a good idea, then we can make our way back to the ship leasurely and take photos. Too bad things close down early. I like your ideas about the walk back from the fort. Thanks again
