we are going to book a cruise on the sunshine for March 7th going to Aruba, grand Turk...We always seem to pick the wrong side of the ship for sight seeing... can anyone tell me what side of the ship........ port or starboard would be best to watch the ship coming in and going out....which side docks toward the Island? Thanks

Choose the side that you like best, then book the other side.

But seriously, it's hard for even an experienced cruiser to know which side provides the best view. The bigger ports have multiple piers and even in the smaller ports, the ships don't always dock with the same side to the pier. Another factor is which view is better, facing the pier or facing away from the pier.

The odds are slightly better that the starboard side will face the pier. There seems to be slightly more single sided piers where if the ship pulls in head first (again a slightly higher percentage of the time over backing in) where the ship will tie up on the starboard side.
