pabride2007 Posted July 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2005 well we finally decided on have the wedding with royal caribbean. Does anyone have any suggestions. We thought about getting married in florida before the cruise or get married on an island and make st. thomas one of our first stops. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. monkey1 Posted July 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2005 Congratulations on making your decision! I was so relieved when we finally made ours. I think you should do whatever makes you happiest. If you have people sailing with you, or even if you don't, you may want to get married on St. Thomas, so you have a few days to relax before rushing to get married and then get on the ship. Based on some of the other reviews, it sounds like most people who got married on embarkation day felt very rushed. If you have people that just want to come in for the wedding, then you may want to just have it in Florida. What ship are you on? ~Traci
ssoceo Posted July 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2005 Just be careful if you are getting married on the islands. Our cruise in 2004 had 7 couples getting married in St. Thomas - well low and behold it was during hurricane season and the captain did the same itinerary but reversed it! Instead of St. Thomas being the 1st port it was the last - so in essence all the couples had their honeymoon before the wedding..... The only real juggle was for those who had family who flew to St. Thomas for the wedding and the wedding was about 5 days later!
