British Isles Trip Tour Guides

Recommended Posts

We just got back from the Celebrity British Isles Tour and wanted to put in a good word for a few excellent private tour guides that we were pointed to by this board. In Scotland, we used Gordon Ross of Great Scot tours and he gave us an absolutely fabulous tour around Loch Lomond and the Stirling Castle area. Gordon is very friendly and knows the area and its history like the back of his hand. His email is greatscot1320@blueyonder.co.uk

Another tour guide that we really liked was in Normandy, France. John Flaherty of Hand Maid Tours is a real expert on the Normandy area and is as good a guide as you could ever want on the D-Day landing area. His email is john.in.france@wanadoo.fr. In Belfast we used TourUlster. They provided both a driver and a guide and we did the Antrim coast tour with its spectacular scenery and history. We really enjoyed them also. We had a private tour in the Cork area but weren't as pleased with that one as others. I would just use the ship's tour and go to Kinsale. I also would not get a private tour in Dublin. All in all, a fabulous trip and a great series of ports to see.
