CaribbeanGurl Posted April 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Ok so I recieved a free cabin promo and have booked with a friend for the Victory in June. There is a strong possibility that I will not be able to go. I am not sure what to do in this case. If I cancel I would not be losing that much, but if my friend was to show up on her own, what would happen? Since I am the one who got the offer would she have to pay for the cabin? I need to make a decision soon.:(
ibcnusoon Posted April 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Did you attempt to cancel online to see what it would cost? Was this this the free cruise offer (not a free casino rate?) I also received a free cruise (non-casino rate) and was told that I would be responsible for the "prevailing rate" if I cancelled, which I later found out is the Fun Select Rate, not the pennies on the dollar I paid for taxes, etc. After finding that out, I purchase insurance just in case. I'm guessing you did not purchase insurance?

I'd call ASAP because if your date hasn't come it's probably approaching soon.

I'd call ASAP because if your date hasn't come it's probably approaching soon. If it is the free cruise that Carnival handed out, I don't think you can reschedule. Once the "free" interior cabins or the $35/$80 oceanview/balcony cabins were gone, you could not make that selection. Also, all free cabins needed to be purchased by March 3.
