kiltyjock Posted April 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2014 Hi looking at booking cruise to Baltic in late June early July 2015 for my wife's "special birthday" I know from previous discussions she is keen on St Petersburg and Stockholm which other ports of call should I be taking into account. Is there a fly cruise option for any of these as have previously driven to Southampton and don't relish doing so again. Thanks KJ

simonpjd Posted April 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2014 P&O only go to the Baltic from Southampton. A bit of googling and you can find fly cruises where you jet to Oslo and start there. The Baltic is amazing and some of the smaller ports are well worth a visit. But for these you will need to be on a small ship - so if you do not want to just do the capital cities (and usually berth a long way from the centre) then have a think about going with Fred Olsen. Smaller ships - in St Petersburg they often berth in the river close to the Hermitage (the big boys berth about a 30 minute coach drive away). Additionally the have Baltic cruises starting from Liverpool, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Dover - maybe these are a tad easier to get to for you. Whatever - this is the P&O forum so enough said. But worth a look.
