Druke I Posted May 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Personally, I would prefer the Baltic, with pre and post packages in Paris for Euro Disney (or whatever it is called) Michael
Entropy Posted May 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2004 The problem with the Med and Paris on the same package is that it's a long haul from Marseilles to Paris. It's about 750 KM. Even at bullet-train speeds, it's 4 hours. Forget about it on a bus. They might do Med cruises, but Land/Sea packages are problematic at best. Bon Voyage Mickey M. Moeve Posted May 7, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 7, 2004 There are so many no frills airlines in europe now I am sure the disney could find at least one that would be interested in a route from Paris to what ever port disney would choose. Druke I Posted May 7, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2004 It may happen sooner than we thought. World Ocean and Cruise Liner Society's Bill Miller is reporting that Disney is seeking bids from European shipyards for 2 new 90,000 GRT ships, part of a planned expansion to a fleet of 6 to 8 ships in total. Hooray, if true! Michael
Mattsudds Posted May 9, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2004 The Paris to Marseille Line was upgraded to Train a Grande Vistesse standards, TGV. The distance is 800km and the train covers it in 3 hrs. So Marseille based for Disney would make a very feasible option. In addition the TGV line goes right to their own station at the Paris theme park. Entropy Posted May 11, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 11, 2004 That's a fact. I just came back from Disneyland Paris. The train station is right there next to the DLP entrance, just a hundred meters or so. We took the RER train from Paris and it couldn't have been easier.
quote:
Originally posted by Mattsudds: The Paris to Marseille Line was upgraded to Train a Grande Vistesse standards, TGV.
