Venice water taxi

We are leaving out of Venice on the Equinox, June 14. We are flying in to Marco Polo several days in advance to take in the sights of Venice. There are 4 people in our group and want to take a water taxi to our apt near St Mark's plaza. We're wondering if it would be better to buy water taxi transportation ahead of time or wait in line at the airport dock and negotiate. Does anyone have any experience with this?

No point in booking really when we went in early August we just walked to the Water Taxi Rank, and went straight on board. It was Euro70 0r100(sorry memory not too good) to by the the Ferrovia waterbus stop(Opposite end of the Grand Canal to St Marks)

Absolutely fantastic way of entering Venice, would absolutely do it again, Price not too bad for 5 of us and I guess we could have got 10 in!

Do it and enjoy!

Visit either the Cruise Critic postings for Venice or Travel Advisor and find a Water Taxi service recommended by users of either site. Reserve you water taxi ahead of time, by doing it advance you will have the cost set, know exactly what you have to do and where you have to go. Whatever company you select just make sure they will adjust for any flight delays. Enjoy Venice.
