Just off the Breeze from an 8 day Southern Carib. cruise. Beautiful, beautiful ship! Embarking was brief, about 15 minutes, but then again we are platinum. However, one couple traveling with us, is not, and they were on about 5 minutes after us! Our rooms were ready and luggage arrived shortly thereafter. We thought food on the lido deck was pretty good, especially Guy's burgers!! Breakfast burritos were yummy also. Carnival makes the best pastries in the industry. We did not like that we had to cut into the omelet line and reach thru to get the pastries though. Dinner food was OK. Not terrible but not particularly great either. Desserts, especially the chocolate melting cake was very good. Dining room staff was not as good as in the past. Not one night did they ever come to our table (of 8) and ask if we would like something from the bar or a bottle of wine. We had been to Grand Turk previously, so we just went to the beach and Margueritaville. Easy to find lounges on the beach. At the Dominican Republic we hired a van who took us to a market, after driving thru some pathetically poor neighborhoods. They we went to the Casa de Campo resort to see how the "other half" live. After that we went to Altos de Chavon which was beautiful. On Curacao we again hired a van where we visited the Chobolobo where Blue Cura ao Liqueur is made. We were able to sample several different liquors. We stopped and had a photo opp at a beautiful point overlooking Willemstad. We took pix from up high of Andrew Jones and Sammy Sosa's homes. Absolutely breathtaking views! We arrived in Aruba on their Labor Day and ALL the shops and bars were shut down tight!. We had been there several times in the past so we took a taxi to the beach and relaxed and swam in the aqua waters! The absolutely best tour ever though is the

Behind the Fun" tour which takes you all over the ship: the galley, the staff's dining and recreation areas, the production dressing room and stage, the engine control room, the bridge, the food and drink storage areas, the meat freezer and the laundry rooms! At each stop, the manager of that area explains it all in length and takes questions from the group. We had our pix taken by family and the group with the captain.

The casino stays pretty busy and was happy to take our donations! The cruise director and his staff were excellent too. Fat Jimmy's pulled pork was NOT awesome. Wouldn't wait in the line for it again. Lines for all other venues were not bad at all and there are so many places to sit, sun, play cards at or just people watch all over the ship.

Highly recommend the Carnival Breeze!
