Muumuu Posted August 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2005 Still waiting for our local passport office to return my call with a few questions I have. So I am going to the best source and that is this board. 1. Is renewing a childs passport like obtaining a new one for them? 2. Is the price going up any time soon? Cannot find this on the govt passport web site. Thank you
momof4boys Posted August 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2005 Not sure about child's passport but we received our passports in January, and just recently read that with the new "special passports" (anti-theft/terror, etc) the price will go up $5.00 (I think)

LadyAlexa Posted August 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2005 Looks like you have to re-apply in person to renew a child's passport. I'm guessing this is because children change so much that the photo might not be good for idenification. http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/renew/renew_833.html http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/minors/minors_834.html I didn't see anything on the site about if the price is going up soon. bsdmhutch Posted August 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2005 The prices went up just recently, but there is rumors floating around (apparently from passport agents) that they prices will go even higher next year.

thekidsandi Posted August 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2005 This is the first time we will be traveling with passports - we have always used birth certificates in the past. Do we need to have any other documentation if we have passports?

That is all we have ever carried with us except for driver's license of coarse. cheri
