Drive to Emerald Lake from Skagway

Hello everyone,

 

How is the drive to Emerald Lake? Are the roads too windy? We are planning to rent a car in Skagway and I am not too comfortable with roads that climb up and go down. Thanks in advance.

Only you know your limits - and "too windy" is very subjective (I love windy roads, so there's no such thing). Still photos don't tell you much, but a search on Youtube for "klondike highway" could keep you busy for hours. An 18-minute one at

is particularly descriptive and may answer your question. About 5 years ago I told a woman that it was easy to drive, and she TOTALLED her Avis rental car! So I don't say that anymore :)

it is an easy drive. Try to shake off the driving responsibility. ;) The scenery is so great that it seems almost unfair to the driver who has to focus on the road
