BigDoug Posted May 13, 2014 #26 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Get on a three way call with Carnival and the TA and then transfer the booking away from the TA. Problem with the TA solved.
LVDFW Posted May 13, 2014 #27 Share Posted May 13, 2014 The guy from carnival told me that if I would cancel my booking with the TA then i would lose my booking and not guaranteed rooms close together. They said because I have a minor child (16) the rooms have to be within a 3 door distance. I told him he would be with my 21 yr old daughter and they said they consider an adult at 25 (Something else my TA didn't tell me). Just don't want to chance anything messing up my cruise. I just learned a valuable lesson and won't be making that mistake again!! Would this work? Book 2nd cruise with Carnival. Get similar rooms that meet all the rules Then cancel the first? Bristol5 Posted May 13, 2014 #28 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Speaking of OBC it's use it or lose it correct? Can you use it in the casino then cash out the remaining balance? No, you do not have to "use it or lose it". On our last cruise, we had about $150.00 of our OBC left after all charges were deducted, even the tips, went to the Service Desk and they paid us the balance in CASH. Simple, no need to go through the Casino. What fun to come home with cash!
Nadersmom Posted May 13, 2014 #29 Share Posted May 13, 2014 We used a local TA the first time we cruised in 2012 also. Never Never Never again. What a hassle. No returned calls, constantly having to call and see if they put in for a price reduction (they are the ones that suggested we book early saver so we could get the price drops, then got attitude with us whenever we called to get them.) We actually missed 2 price drops because they didn't submit the forms in time, even though we called them as soon as we saw the price drops. We found a great PVP and now call direct. Done so for our last cruise and our next one in November as well. With all of the helpful hints you get from reading the forums, booking direct isn't near as difficult as the TA's make it seem. Cajun Sailor Posted May 13, 2014 Author #30 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Thanks for everyone's advice and trust me, I've completely learned my lesson. Just gonna relax and look at my countdown clock!! Life's too short to dwell on things out of our control and not for one sec do I want to give her any inkling that she has ruined my upcoming vacation!! I believe you reap what you sow!! Happy cruising y'all!!
