Coco Cay charge question

Has anyone snorkeled here recently? We have our own equipment but no vests for the adults. I understand Royal Caribbean requires a vest....no problem except a poster just back said everyone was required to pay the full rental charge of $27 to snorkel, regardless if they had their own equipment or not???? I understand previously there was a nominal charge for the vest (way to go Disney for providing these at no cost) so has there been a change?

Thanks! I'm hearing that from others too. Someone just back posted the full charge scenario, and I was getting worried. We have all our own gear, except a couple of vests. After investing in all that, I sure would have hated to end up with a bill for $135 for the 5 of us to use our own stuff to snorkel.

We were just on the SOS (over 4th of July weekend) and the cost for the vest was still $6.00. If you are lucky and aren't seen , you can get away without using one. It is all luck of the draw or eyes..lol. My dd is 11 and while a very good swimmer, I always make her use the vest since she gets tired out before anyone else.

I will say that in July there really wasnt much to see. We went to three different spots on the beach and for the most part it was pretty cloudy.

Still a great day and wonderful way to relax. We always look forward to the day on any of the private islands.
