beegsmom Posted May 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2014 We are booked on a November POA cruise and have a few questions regarding NCL excursions. 1. On our first day in Maui we would like to do the Molokini Crater Snorkel tour in the morning. Scheduled to get back to the ship at 2:30 pm. Then we would like to do the Haleakala Sunset tour which is scheduled to leave at 3:30 pm. This would give us only 1 hr to get a bite to eat, get our warm gear for the summit, and catch the Sunset tour on the pier. Has anyone done these two tours back to back and/or any thoughts on whether this is really doable? 2. On our second day in Maui we would like to do either the Road to Hana or Road to Hana Deluxe tour. Has anyone done the Deluxe tour and and thoughts on whether it is really worth the extra cost? Any thoughts or input on these items would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
MissMet Posted May 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2014 I don't have answers to your questions, but I will point out that Roberts has much better prices than the cruise line for the same tours & their timing may be better for you. They are very well liked on CC & we used them for all of our tours the first time around. The next time around we rented a car at each of the ports and did almost everything on our own, for a much more enjoyable & relaxed experience- doing what we wanted to do. We did the molokini snorkel with Kai Kanani who were awesome. You'd need a car or taxi, but so worth it. They leave from an area real close to the crater (15-20 minute boat ride) so you get there ahead of most of the other tour groups & you have more time in the water, since the boat ride is shorter. They are the only ones that do this- every other tour leaves from the same area near the cruise ship, wasting a lot of your tour time going to & from the crater. Food was great & they were awesome- got in the water with you & made sure everyone had a great time. May not help you at all, but thought I'd share just in case. You may get better answers over in the Hawaii board.
Ilovesailing Posted May 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2014 It's not feasible to do either tour on your half day. Also don't know who your looking at for tours but make sure they are shore excursions and not land. Land they only pick up at hotels.
