Cococay diving

I have attached links to my dive review and pix below.

We have been back to Cococay once since this dive, but it was during last year's hurricane mess, so I just snorkeled the seagrass bed (and Keith drank beer).

Our next scheduled visit is in December on the 4-day...and I'll probably do it, depending on how the weather has been. Even a so-so dive beats baking in the sun, but Keith will probably pass unless we are going to dive Nassau as well.

Have a great trip & please post when you get back!

Steve-

I have to 'fess up...I gave up my log more years ago than I want to admit. Keith is usually good, but when I checked, there was just a notation of the dive, without depth or time marked. Maybe because we dove with their gear, and didn't have our computers.

The dive was relatively shallow, I think 40-50ft, but perhaps somone who writes things down will have the actual figure. I do remember looking at my air gauge and thinking, "darn, what a waste."

Have a great trip!

Nelsonrx,

I posted some info on cococay diving under the post "Scuba Review - Very Long". Overall, don't expect to see a lot of sea life and coral but it is a nice relaxing dive. We saw juvenile tropicals and a juvie golden moray eel. There was a big anchor and some other wreck-type items scattered if I remember correctly. The DM said sometimes they see a pair of spotted eagle rays right at the drop off area. You won't go any deeper than 35' unless you take a shovel! :D You go on the first tender (7:45 a.m.) and get to the island while it's quiet and peaceful. We stayed all day enjoying the beach and the beautiful water and caught the last ferry back. Hope you enjoy your trip. We had a great time on ours!
