Rare sunluva7 Posted August 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2005 If I wanted to make a standing reservation in one of the personal choice dining rooms on the Caribbean Princess next week, which of the two would you recommend, the Palm or Coral? It would be great to have a table for 6 each night so our family can catch up on the day's events, but also have the flexibility to dine elsewhere if we choose. CruiseFever Posted August 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2005 We liked the Palm better. It's a bit bigger than the Coral and it always seemed less busy. I think that might be because of it's aft location. Also, in the Palm there are more tables to accomodate a party of your size. Remember though, unless you are making your standing reservation for right when the dining room opens you might have a slight wait. If you choose a specific table and service staff maybe longer. Julia & David Posted August 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Just off the CB July 30. We preferred the Palm for dinner. We only had reservations on formal nights. We did not have a wait any other night. They seated it us immediately. There were four of us. We tried the Coral for breakfast for the first this cruise and loved it. The buffet is great but it felt good to just sit down and order. The service was wonderful.
cruzinchris Posted August 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2005 DH and I also preferred the Palm for anytime (reserved) dining and will likely go there again next January. It will be convenient from our Baja aft stateroom. We enjoyed the Coral Dining Room for breakfast most mornings. Afternoon Tea and wine tastings were held in the Island, so we actually had a chance to experience each of the main dining rooms. We never made it to Cafe Caribe on our previous CB cruise and will definitely include this next year. Bon Appetit! and Bon Voyage! Chris
mphouston Posted August 3, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Just off the CB 7/23 cruise. We had two tables for 8 in Palm (tables 99/100 with Daniel). Good tables and a good wait staff. On the first day of the cruise, we called the concierge and got a standing reservation at 6:00. Requested tables near the window. This worked out great. We got two tables looking out the aft windows, so we had a nice view of the islands as we left. They only take standing reservations 5:30-6:00 and after 8:00 (or so). Coral was fine for breakfast and lunch, but it seemed a bit crowded on formal nights. Palm was more crowded on formal nights, but there we no line when we got there at 6:00 on the other nights.
