rich60 Posted May 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2014 To those of you who have sailed the Divina out of Miami. Where are the smoking areas on this ship. I ask this because I am a smoker. I would like to know if there are any interior venues where one can smoke. Thank you, Richard

MM42 Posted May 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2014 To those of you who have sailed the Divina out of Miami. Where are the smoking areas on this ship. I ask this because I am a smoker. I would like to know if there are any interior venues where one can smoke. Thank you, Richard From MSC USA's website: FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 5, 2013) – With the upcoming arrival of MSC Divina to PortMiami, MSC Cruises is expanding its smoke-free policy in order to accommodate the North American market. Effective November 2nd, when MSC Divina’s Grand Voyage departs Venice en route to Miami, smoking areas on MSC Divina will be limited to two general areas: the Cigar Lounge and port side of designated outside decks (away from all bars and food areas). The Top Sail Lounge, located in the prestigious and private MSC Yacht Club, and the Black & White Lounge will also become 100% non-smoking. In addition, the casino has been designated as non-smoking. At the discretion of the casino manager, smoking will be occasionally allowed for playing guests, during certain hours and in limited areas that will be clearly designated as smoking permitted. As with all other MSC ships, smoking will continue to be prohibited in staterooms, on balconies, and in corridors, elevators, stairways, and public bathrooms. http://www.msccruisesusa.com/us_en/About-MSC-Cruises/News/MSC-Cruises-Enhances-Clean-Air-Program.aspx
thraak Posted May 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2014 We sailed 4/12/14 and the majority of our smoking was done on deck 14, starboard. (Between the Calumet buffet area and on the right side of the large video screen). There are large tables that seat 6, I think, and there was always a seat as everyone shares the tables. They were also good about coming around and emptying the ash trays. Also, the ship leaves at about 7:40 pm and the duty free shop opens around 8 pm. They sell name brand cartons for $29 each or 5 cartons for $125. :-)
Mikesa1721 Posted May 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2014 Thankfully I was able to give up cigs after 30 years this past February but use an e-cig instead. I was able to use it everywhere on the ship except the dining rooms. The casino is non-smoking but I was able to use my e-cig here as well. You can always go to the enclosed Cigar Lounge which is a very nice enclosed lounge for smokers!
