Whilst on AOS cruise to Norway in May my credit card details were stolen.

We have traveled the US, Europe, Mexico and Caribbean but invariably the issue happens more when we are home. I have been scammed online by an accidental press of a button, had my debit card scammed at the gas station where they charged $99 X 2 and the debit card company stopped the third charge at a Walmart in TX, not AZ where I live/work. My husband is diligent with our accounts. Capital has been great to work with, even overnighting a card. The worse was having our checking account scammed with a $24.99 "check". We had to close our account (lost all our history, and reopen, set up new withdrawals, etc. This was 10 days before Europe. My DH was a mess about that one.

Stuff happens, we have to stay aware. Get metal containers to carry your cards so they can't walk by you and steel the info. Watch your accounts, have alerts set up and don't be afraid to call your companies. My BIL was scammed by an American Express employee in NY who changed his address, ordered new cards and spent thousands before they knew it happened. No cost to BIL.

It happens, that is life. Just a part of the game these days, though it isn't fun.

Just one more comment...

While in Australia last year, a family member was reporting that their card got scimmed...All the charges were reversed...except the porn...card company said too many times it isn't 'fraud' but embarassment of one partner who is found out!

Count me in for similar issues. We returned at the end of last month from a TA on RCI and then a UK/ Northern Europe cruise on Celebrity. My purse was locked in the safe the whole time onboard and at the Marriott in Copenhagen. The bank contacted me the day after I returned and two of my credit cards and my debit card had unauthorized activity within the last two days.

None of these cards were used in ports of call. Makes me wonder if someone accessed the safe either onboard or at the hotel.
