CruzieSue Posted June 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2014 We will be staying at the Prytania Park Hotel next March. We stayed at the Maison St. Charles Comfort Inn a couple of years ago so somewhat familiar with the area. When there before, we ate at the St. Charles Tavern for dinner and breakfast and were very pleased. Just wondering if you can recommend some other great places to eat in that area (easy walking or trolley ride distance) that are not too hard on the pocketbook. Delmonico's is a bit too expensive for us. Thanks for your input!
WLHyatt Posted June 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2014 Voodoo Bbq is good. We were not impressed with sushi brothers. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
ellieanne Posted June 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2014 I'll second the Voodoo BBQ recommendation. Zea's is very good (definitely try the roast corn grits as a side!) Cheesecake Bistro is worth a visit as well. If you're willing to venture a bit further Uptown on St. Charles Avenue, Superior is great for Mexican. nolatravelgirl Posted June 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) Zea's is really good, but if you would like to take the streetcar (never call it a trolley in NOLA ;)) then head all the way down and go to Vincent's for delicious Italian, then you can walk to my favorite divey bar for a beer. Cooter Brown's also has good food, though it is definitely more in the bar food line than a dining establishment. http://www.vincentsitaliancuisine.com/html/menu.html http://www.cooterbrowns.com/main.html If you do go to Zea's asked to be seated in Batman's section. His real name is Keaton, like the actor Michael Keaton who played Batman in the movie. Edited June 25, 2014 by nolatravelgirl
Lynda59 Posted July 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2014 So many choices - I definitely recommend Zea's which is around the corner from your hotel. A great website: http://www.nomenu.com which one of the best I have seen - written by a local food critic.
