godeano1 Posted August 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2005 I found a post where someone indicated exactly at what angle to swim out to at Dzul Ha and I believe Playa Corona as well. Somehow, can't find it now. Can anyone help?
solita Posted August 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2005 That might have been mine from months ago. It all depends on the currents but most of the time I swim north and then drift back south. Plan on going out tomorrow morning.

solita Posted August 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2005 Thanks, when you get back, could you post? I appreciate the help!!! It was great as usual! I just love an early morning snorkel. And a mid day snorkel. And a sunset snorkel.... Wonder why I always have a craving for ceviche afterwards though! I can't find the post either but no biggie. The current direction does change from time to time but is nothing to worry about. All you need to do is go out in the water and "feel" which way the water is moving you...either to the south away from your ship or toward your ship. I would snorkel against the current so I can snorkel back to starting point without getting tired. The current isn't so strong it is going to sweep you off to the Caymans or anything like that. Just don't want to get pooped out having to kick against it at the end of your snorkel. Enjoy!!!
godeano1 Posted August 8, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted August 8, 2005 Thanks Solita, if snorkeling from Dzul Ha, the stairs on the right of the palapia, in what direction in the reef?
solita Posted August 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2005 It runs both! So you can go against the current then turn around and head back with it to where you started.

Two@Sea Posted August 27, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Could someone please offer directions to Dzul Ha? I can't seem to find it on the Cozumel maps. Can we just get a taxi at the pier to take us there? How about getting back to the ship? Are taxi's readily available for the return? Also, Solita, have been wanting to tell you how much I LOVE your little footsie! Thanks!
zydecocruiser Posted August 27, 2005 #9 Share Posted August 27, 2005 I imagine Solita likes her footsies, too! Dzul Ha is easy to get to via cab from the cruise piers. On the West Coast between Chankanaab and the cruise ship piers. http://www.gocozumel.com/island-map.htm
Two@Sea Posted August 27, 2005 #10 Share Posted August 27, 2005 What a great bunch... no, not Solita's toes (altho they actually ARE a great bunch). I meant posters who give so much help to us newbies! Thanks!
bruce-r Posted August 27, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Another fun thing to do is a drift snorkel from Dzul Ha south to the Fiesta Americana, if the current is running that direction that day.;) it is a short walk back to Dzul Ha. If the current is running south to north, get in at Fiesta Americana and drift down to Dzul Ha for the exit. It will be a slow drift in any case as the current near the shore is seldom really strong.
