Ok. I am a newbie, and looking to purchase trip insurance, cause this cruise is gonna cost us more than we have ever spent on a vacation! I have learned that most policies DO NOT cover diving, and that is one of the objectives of this cruise.

I have done lots of research and found an unbelievable deal....and it looks legit...have any of you had experience with World Nomads out of Austrailia?

This is what I've found:

I'm the editor of Cheap Travel Insurance -

http://www.cheaptravelinsurance.com.au - we review travel insurers and

give them a rating out of 100.

The best provider we've come across so far is World Nomads -

http://www.worldnomads.com.au - followed by Travel Insurance Direct -

http://www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au

Nomads are cheap and they're the only ones we've reviewed who offer

online claims and online extensions... very cool!

The ratings at http://cheaptravelinsurance.com.au/...y=1&Review_ID=1 have comments and they are all excellent.

I was quoted $112 for my family for 2 weeks. Coverage is in fixed amounts and they do not insure people over 66. They are underwritten by Allianz Aus, which has Superior and Excellent ratings by the insurance raters (A&M, Standard and Poore etc). Trip cancellation amounts are enough to cover all of our expenses. ($16000 usd) It includes emergency medical coverage and covers injuries sustained while diving or parasailing ($8,002,113 usd!), (as well as repatriation and medical evacuation ($800,211) It also includes coverage for personal liability, personal property, dental, and 24 hr. helpline. Here is the link that outlines the benefits: http://www.worldnomads.com.au/policycover.aspx

The actual policy can also be viewed from the site. They market to backpackers and are an australian company...but they write policies for residents of other countries, traveling independently.

The policy does not cover missed connections or travel delays-or preexisting conditions...but that is not an issue for us and we have some flexibility-before and after our trip.

I can't find anything wrong with it.....can you?

Just because I have never heard of them does not mean that they are not reputable. The amounts of coverage you get for $112 seem very generous.

I have always gone with [ulr=http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/]D.A.N. [/url] dive insurance when I travel. A chamber ride in a foreign country can be expensive.
