I am planning a day at this resort in early October. Can any of you savvy locals tell me if it weathered the hurricane well?

I'm not sure about the savvy part! But the Melia did okay during Emily. It suffered the same vegetation loss as most places on the island. No structural damage though. Can hardly tell anything happened.
