The Queens to sail From Brooklyn

This is probably old news but have just seen that as from April 2006 both the QM2 And QE2 Will both sail in to Red Hook in Brooklyn rather than Midtown Manhattan.

I have done the Transatlantic run a few times now and dont think it will ever be the same as it was before.

The big thrill for me coming from the UK Was to sail up the Hudson River in to Mid Town.

Not sure how this will work , will The qm2 Sail around Goveners Island so we will still get a good view of Manhattan Sky line or will she just do this on the way out or not at all?

Any help please.

Pompey, if you search the forum for Brooklyn you will see this has been discussed extensively. The Princess executive appeared to imply that ships will sail around Governor's Island, up Buttermilk Channel:

When you sail away from New York in the evening from Red Hook, you'll cruise around Governor's Island right to the most perfect view of the skyline and down past the Statue of Liberty. It's one of the most dramatic sailaways in the world
- see here: http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=1283

But since he also thought that

When you sail into New York, a lot of people are still in bed and miss the view,"
he evidently knows little to nothing about Trans Atlantic crossings....

have done a search on Brooklyn with no joy is there a link?

Brooklyn is mentioned in plenty of threads if you use the 'search this forum' tool. Here are two of the main ones focussed on that issue, rather than getting diverted into 'Princessification' issues:
