Dolphia Cove in Jamica Question

Does anyone have information or experience in going to Dolphin Cove for the day on your own?

We have already done the falls etc. and only want to go to the Cove.

All tours I have found are a package deal.

Is it safe to take a taxi and are they available when you want to leave?

Traveling with 5 year old grandson and want to be sure we are safe.

Thanks a bunch !

I've been there and can say it's a great little place, the dolphins are very beautiful and better than in Mexico. The "pool they have them in is fed through the ocean...lika a half pool with a fence where the ocean meets it...makes it look almost as part of the ocean. The little band they had there was fun too. Take a pic with the iguana. I only have gone once, but honestly I will never go again...Why you ask, bad time...drowned?? Not exactly, see I booked the swim through them directly not with a tour group. I had a time of about 1pm...we had done the falls, and were close by so we decided to go and see if we could get in earlier. Well there was group in front of us and they were completely filled, we asked if we could go early for some silly excuse...they accomodated us, and since no one else was scheduled....we (Me and wife) were by ourselves with Misty...amazing time...for this kind of experience you would have to buy the other 10 or 15 spots so you could be alone with a dolphin. Try out my approach maybe it'll work for you too....even if you don't though...it's worth it even in the group everyone gets equal time...it's great fun. Hope this helps.
