CHAPULA Posted August 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2014 Just curious, has anyone every booked 'guarantee' and then contacted Carnival (not PVP) to put a 'note' on your booking that IF you were upgraded, where you'd prefer to be upgraded to. serene56 Posted August 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2014 If booking a guarantee-= you can not request where your "upgrade" will be. Thats why the guarantee rate is cheaper then booking a cabin. Canadian_J Posted August 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2014 This whole requesting an upgrade thing has always seemed like a bit of a unicorn to me. Plenty of talk about it, but I don't think it actually makes a difference. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes with guarantees to decide when/where your cabin is assigned though that there are plenty of theories. For PVP's who tell you you're on this "list", they look like a superstar if you do happen to get upgraded though. The only thing my PVP has said that I do believe about guarantees is if you're linked bookings they'll try to accommodate you close by if you request it.
