Price drop but Carnival won't approve

They said that one or more requirements were not met. Really not sure what that means.

I had this same comment on my denial letter too.. just two days ago.. I called and the girl said it was because my specific category - 4J - was now priced HIGHER than a normal interior cabin and that is why mine got denied.. No harm in calling they will explain the reason to you.

I received the automatic denial as well and called to get the price adjusted. The person I spoke with was very quick and knowledgeable and explained that the computer did not have the Past Guest Sale entered yet, so automatically denied the request. Their new computer approval system doesn't seem to be working. I have to say again the person I spoke with was very fast and efficient and I was off the phone with a confirmation email in my inbox in less than 5 minutes (not counting waiting on hold to speak to someone, which was about 10 minutes).

That would make sense because I also called after I got a denial letter. First, he told me that he could only find the guarantee rate applicable for my booking. Then, he put me on hold for a few minutes. Finally, he figured out that he had to physically key in the rate code and was able to apply the new rate. It sounds like there are some glitches in their system.

I ignored most of the ads. If you're already booked, you really should get to listen to steel drums or something!

Just called Carnival about a price drop for my November cruise. A week ago, I noticed that the price on my cruise went down by $80.00. I emailed Carnival and within 2 hours I received an email denying the drop because I was not booked with an ES rate. After reading all the post, I called my PVP and asked him about the price drop and he checked it out and now I have an $80.00 OBC.

So don't give up! Keep pushing for those price drops. :D:)

You are not past the final payment date so you should have no problem getting the price drop.

If you weren't given the price drop and not booked ES you could have simply canceled and rebooked at the new price.

Ok so it's been awhile since we booked using ES so I guess I could be missing something but from what I recall I always got price adjustments for any price reduction even if it was from a promo. We received one already because my VIFP offer was lower. The Sail from Florida and Save promo gives me a price of $150 less than what I paid but Carnival said they won't approve the price protection. Has anyone had any luck with getting the reduction on this particular promo? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If the promotion is for a guarantee cabin, Carnival won't price match to a rate that is for a guarantee cabin. And Carnival has gotten really smart and is offering most of its lowest prices as guarantees now. Watch for rates that allow you to pick your own cabin if you want to look for price drops.
