Beaches in Nassau within walking distance of the port?

We are looking for a cheap or free beach to walk to when we get off the ship. Our 2 young children will be with us. My husband does not want to get in a cab or on a bus.

I only know of Junkanoo Beach(free) that is walking distance from the ship. Its about 20 minute walk. I never actually stayed at the beach, just passed it on my way to Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Center. From the Junkanoo to Ardastra Gardens/Zoo, its another 15-20 minute walk.

British Colonial Hotel has a small cove beach which is about 4 blocks and visible from ship (depending on where tendered at pier). Day pass available at hotel desk for $60 adult which includes a lunch/Drink credit. Children cost much less. We found the walk easy and the beach clean.
