Just got an invitation for this in the mail. Has anyone ever taken one? I would like to hear your experiences.

I will call on Monday to see what my "private casino rate" costs. They are also giving me $525 cash.

Thanks!

Sue

I did one a few years ago. It was nice.

I got the offer too but haven't called. When you do please come back and post what your discount is. I'd be interested to know.

I called today and they quoted me Interior for $525 and balcony would be $875. They are also giving me $525 in cash. This is for a 7 night Carribbean cruise on Royal or Regal. I would also get free drinks in the casino, tournaments and gifts to the cabin like strawberries and wine, welcome aboard cocktail party, and a dedicated VIP host. Don't know what they would do for me. Do you?

Does that seem like a good deal?

Whether or not it is a good deal would depend upon what they are charging the public for the same rooms. When we went last year, the casino rate was about the same as regular rate. we just booked thru our regular discount TA and received a better rate.

It is nice receiving the free drinks and all, and they have a special slot tournament for casino VIP's, but the one negative for us is the casino is extremely busy all the time with all the casino passengers ( including the ones that pretend they are playing a machine just to get their "free drinks"...)

Thanks for your thoughts. I am starting to think it may be better to just book a cruise I really am really interested in. They will still give me some cash and the casino will be less busy. I am not a big drinker so I really don't need that. Thanks for helping me by sharing your experiences.

  • 3 weeks later...

Well this cruise just dropped $105 pp to $770 for a balcony on the Royal so I booked it. On Saturday my local casino gave me a free cruise on Carnival in a balcony, so I am going to see if I can make it a B2B out of Fort Lauderdale. I can't book until 7 days have gone by according to the invitation.

Actually they are not cheaper compared to rack rates, CC prices are better normally, the free drinks and $$$ are the only percks. The gifts are lame, and free in room foods are worth it.

The vip host will be running ariund the casino like a chicken with his/her head cut off.

Tip the bartenders, and they come back quicker than waitin 20mins for a new drink.

They normally don't give $$$ if you book a cruise outside their offers.
