The price of my cruise has finally gone down but the taxes have gone up!!

The taxes have gone up on two of the cruises we have booked as well. They also went up on our last cruise but when we got on board we actually had a small credit for an adjustment in port fees. I wonder if it deters people from applying for price drops when the taxes/fees go up. I still apply for the drops no matter how small because eventually they do end up adding up :)
