landsear Posted September 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2014 We are only bringing carry on suitcases with us. Do these still go to the porters to arrive in our room later, or can we carry them on with us and go directly to our room?
Disconnections Posted September 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) If your carry on is a roll-a-board, you won't have any issue because it fits through the scanner. No porter is required. Your room is ready at 1:30 unless you are Platinum/Diamond/FTTF. Edited September 5, 2014 by Disconnections
snc_cam Posted September 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2014 The only way you can get to your room early is if you have FTTF (and I think Platinum/Diamond/Suite). Other than that, unless you show up after 1:30 or 2:00, you will be toting your luggage around with you until they open the cabins for everyone. landsear Posted September 5, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted September 5, 2014 Okay thanks! One more question. We land at 10am at MCO. I've read it's about an hour drive to the port. What time do you think we'll get on the boat?
virginiab Posted September 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2014 I would guess it would be at least noon, as you have to extricate yourself from the airport, connect with your transportation, drive to port, get checked in. Each step takes time. If you are renting a car, that takes additional time at each end of the drive. If you are on a Carnival transfer, you may have to wait a while until the bus fills up so it can leave. You can easily go to the Lido deck with your carry-ons and take turns sitting with the luggage and going for food, should you get aboard before the cabins are ready. Enjoy a leisurely lunch, then take your luggage to the cabin. Have a great cruise!
Disconnections Posted September 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2014 Okay thanks! One more question. We land at 10am at MCO. I've read it's about an hour drive to the port. What time do you think we'll get on the boat? Depends. What method of transportation are you using to get from MCO to Port Canaveral?
snc_cam Posted September 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2014 There are a lot of factors that determine when you get on board. But getting to the port around 11am, you "should" be onboard by 1230; unless you have priority boarding (Diamond, Platinum, Suite, Wedding, or FTTF). landsear Posted September 5, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted September 5, 2014 Thanks again for the quick and helpful responses! We are using the Carnival transfer service.
snc_cam Posted September 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2014 So when you get off the plane, go downstairs to the baggage area. There will be at least one Carnival rep helping out. Just ask him where the bus is for going to the port. Very simple. Enjoy your cruise.
serene56 Posted September 5, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 5, 2014 Thanks again for the quick and helpful responses! We are using the Carnival transfer service. yeah-- you will be waiting for the bus to fill up. but at that time of morning it should not take long. you land-- get your luggage and make your way to the bus. there are cruiselines people all over the place so you will not get lost. can you opt out of the transfer and find your own transportation. for one-- you will be arriving with everyone else which makes the checking in process long and tediuos
