HELP me decide!!! Breeze or Sunshine

We are a family of 4 and have 2 teenage boys (15/16). We are going during their springbreak so we assume there will be a ton of kids.

Wanted the Breeze for the ship but the price is $1800 more than the Sunshine and honestly, I like the itinerary better on the Sunshine.

This is our first cruise on Carnival. Not big into shows or casino. Just want to be in the open sea air and eat without having to cook and clean dishes!!! AND we love adventuring in the ports!

WWYD??

Going off of what you said I would choose the Sunshine. To me the itinerary is the deciding factor and the ship second.

I am going to be different and say the Breeze because of the size and newness of the ship. Itinerary aside, you do spend a huge amount of time on board. Maybe I will change my mind in January, but based on our last experience, there is a reason the Breeze costs more. We loved the Breeze. I don't think the Sunshine would be a good choice for a first Carnival experience, but I am basing that only on the fact that refurbished anything is not the same as new. JMHO

I've done both ships. I think the water works on the Sunshine with its racing slides was nice for kids. They both have guys burgers, movies under the stars. Agree that the Breeze is newer and larger but I think you'd enjoy both. Depends mostly to me about itinerary. Have fun

my vote is for the Sunshine, less people means less crowded.

I'm not saying there won't be crowded areas on the Sunshine, but it seemed like every time we wanted an elevator that we had to let 2 or 3 pass becasue they were full. And both pools were always packed making it more like bobbing in water.

the breeze does have the thrill theater and the ropes course, which are nice to do one time, but I'd still prefer the Sunshine.

I really don't care too much about the boat. The itinerary , number of days at sea, and price is what I value most when deciding on a cruise. To me, it's about the port days. No matter what ship your on, there is always something to do, the food is pretty much the same on most ships ( I'm not there for the food ) , and if you have a good attitude you'll have fun no matter what ship your on. I'm like you, happy to be on vacation, to have somebody else cook for me, and not have to clean up after a meal.

It's just a moment, this time will pass

I am lucky enough to have been on both. The Sunshine in the Med last year when it had a few teething problems (which it no longer has) and the Breeze this summer.

I felt they were both as equally enjoyable. The Breeze is bigger, which makes all public areas on the ship bigger for example larger kids clubs, casino, showroom. It has a few extras, thrill theatre and a separate disco, but that's it.

I would happily sail on either ship again, but next time we are going to try a different line. The ships were so similar that there was nothing new to discover, which is part of the enjoyment for us.

For me the deal breaker is all about ports, I choose a cruise to see the ports, now if cash comes into the equation and it's $1800 then I wouldn't be asking, I'd be booking. :D. That $1800 will go a long way towards another cruise, because yes you will be booking another one after this one, it's very addictive. Your kids will love it.

If you can book early saver book that rate and keep checking for price reductions and claim them. There were lots of price drops on both the Sunshine and Breeze this August.:D

Just an dad, when you step on board any ship on your first day you will think it's a zoo and what have I let myself into. By later that evening the crowds will have dispersed. Also book faster to the fun worth every penny.

Yes the Sunshine has a ropes course, no thrill theatre and you're not missing anything there.
