Princess vs. Royal

Does Princess have the traditional shows at the traditional times? What is the level of fun compared to RCI and the newer ships. I have found at least on the Oasis, to much planning and figuring out was involved. I guess, I'm your old fashioned traditional cruiser. Is there late evening entertainment, piano bars, comedians? I am a single cruiser and enjoy eating with the same group of people every night of the cruise.

Yes to all the questions, depends what you call fun. No rock wall or flow rider but all the usual quiz, talks etc etc..

We love them both. We've cruised both. Both are very comparable. My DW likes Princess slightly better. I like RC slightly better. But in either case, we simply look for the right price at the right time on the right ship on either one of these two. We have one Princess cruise scheduled and two RC cruises scheduled over the next 18 months.

We are Platinum on both.

We were on the Diamond Princess and found the entertainment subpar compared to the Serenade of the Seas. One night they had talent who worked on the cruise and I think if they put their name down they were included on the show. It was not enjoyable. Thankfully the Alaskan coastline was terrific entertainment.
