Fire In Port of Los Angeles

There is a major fire in the Port of Los Angeles (san Pedro) this morning. It may impact the disembarkation and embarkation of today's California Coastal cruise. If you are picking someone up or leaving today, please allow yourself some extra time. As usual it was caused by a welder. Lots of thick acrid black smoke in the area sure to bring out the lookie-lous.

Passengers are being allowed to disembark from the ship. Fire officials say it will be 8 - 9 hours before the fire is extinguished.

The fire is north of the bridge, as long as the wind keeps the smoke north, the cruise center will not be affected.

Sounds pretty serious but am glad to hear the "World" Cruise Center has not been impacted.
