northernvilla Posted September 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) Hi all, It has been 3-4 years since I was last on a Carnival Cruise and am thinking about booking the 6-day E.Carribean Breeze in May 2015 with my GF (a first time cruise for her) I am have a few questions and it would be great if people could help from their experiences/knowledge: If we sail on 31st May 2015, would the schools in Florida already have finished for the summer (and hence a potentially large number of children onboard)? Are there any adult only areas/pools? If so, where are they? On the Breeze, what are the dining options on Lido deck? Does the ship have a tandoori/Mexican/Burger station etc? Are the L-Shaped extended balcony rooms (at the back of the ship) worth the extra money? They appear to be next to a set of stairs, does this create a lot of noise? Would you pick the extended-aft balcony room over one of these (if the money is relatively similar) Two of my previous cruises have been in rear cabins? How big is the gym? Does it ever get busy and are there hot-tubs within the gym/spa area that can be used? Any other advice and guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. shortstop95 Posted September 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2014 Just sailed on the Carnival Breeze- 8 day and had the most amazing week. You'll love the ship and the hard working crew. 1) Can't comment on the schools. 2) Adult area called Serenity- multi-level with clamshells, hammocks, loungechairs- bar, hottubs, but no adult only pool 3) Lido has Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana Cantina, Comfort Food, Buffett, Pizza, Indian, Deli, Italian - lots of options 4) Aft cabins and balconies are amazing. They are distance to travel. We have loved them- but just don't spend enough time out on them to make it worth it.

Nursepedinp Posted September 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2014 Hi there, I had an L-shaped balcony on the breeze last year and we really enjoyed the extra balcony space. The room was a little smaller though because you get somewhat of a hallway versus more open space. We just got off the breeze on September 21 and this year we had a standard balcony room....and while we did miss the extra balcony space, we liked having the extra room in the cabin. We were on deck 7 when we had the L shaped room and I don't recall a staircase or any noise. Schools here in the Tampa Bay Area get out the first week of June. The gym is a decent size. There were plenty of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. they have a free weight area, and a good amount of weight machines. It was ofcourse busier on sea days with guest and staff members. Mornings were the worse so we tended to go around lunch time. Port days any time seemed to be ok.
3dashers Posted September 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2014 We usually cruise the week before Memorial Day and there are a good number of kids on board. DS Gets out of school may
CruisingSteelerGirl Posted September 30, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2014 We were on the Breeze twice this past summer. Both times we never felt like there were too many people around. The gym we worked out daily in the morning and always found a machine. Being from Tampa the kids were out of school the second week. The Serenity area we always found some space no matter what time. wiskt Posted September 30, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Just off the Breeze on 9/27 Serenity Deck is Adult only... the Spa also has Thalassotherapy Pool which os also ADULT ONLY, but is more a relaxation pool over a deck pool where you can take a drink and hang with friends. If you book a SPA room you get FREE access to this pool. It is nice. Edited September 30, 2014 by wiskt

vacruisin Posted September 30, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 30, 2014 another view with the JETS ON We really enjoyed that pool when we were on the Breeze last year. We were in Key West and it was pouring rain so we decided to stay on the boat and hit the therapeutic pool. Man, with the jets on the water is so warm and relaxing that you feel like you can just fall asleep right in it! :):D

vacruisin Posted September 30, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Sounds wonderful!! How deep is it? Not deep at all. I mean you can stand up in it. Also, there are a series of rails along the sides so that you can hold on to the rails and stretch out in the pool. The water feels great!
countrygirlcruiser1234 Posted September 30, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 30, 2014 If we sail on 31st May 2015, would the schools in Florida already have finished for the summer (and hence a potentially large number of children onboard)? Schools generally get out the 1st week of June but keep in mind the last week of school is generally when parents dont mind pulling kids out..the dont miss anything. Are there any adult only areas/pools? If so, where are they? Serenity Deck...keep in mind it is directly above the water park and very very windy. On the Breeze, what are the dining options on Lido deck? Does the ship have a tandoori/Mexican/Burger station etc? Lido has Guys and Blue Iguana, by the midship pool, Tandor and Pizza by the Aft pool and deli and buffet midship between the pools. wiskt Posted September 30, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Sounds wonderful!! How deep is it? I believe its only about 3 feet deep. Like I mentioned, Its not a "swimming pool" Its a relaxation spa pool. The first photo shows the metal contoured seats you can lay in as the bubble jets flow. Those two pipes in the back give very nice back massages of flowing water. TIP: reach behind and hold your thumbs over 1-2 of the 4-holes and the pressure is even better. northernvilla Posted October 23, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Thanks for all of the replies. It seems like there will be the potential for quite a few kids to be onboard for that date. Is the Aft-view extended balcony worth it over the large balcony on the side of the ship? thanks, NV

N00B Posted October 27, 2014 #19 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Can anyone use this pool or do you have to be in a spa cabin? The pool is part of the SPA. you need to have spa access to use it. So either you are in a spa cabin or you purchase a spa pass.
