What is the best way to get CIG? Hire a taxi in Rio.. what is the price?

Is it better to prearrange in the united States?

CIG? Do you mean GIG, Rio de Janeiro's Galeão–Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport? (There is also a a Brazilian airport that uses code CGH.)

What is the taxi fare? From what neighborhood? It's a big city. Could be R$35. Could be R$90.

If you are at a hotel, you can have them call a taxi for you or you can go to the nearest taxi cooperative rank. Taxi is probably the most convenient. The Real bus (frescao) a good option to get into parts of the city from the airport, is hard to flag down in the airport direction. The shuttle can do a lot of time consuming pick up stops and the price above is not current.

I am at the Porto Bay hotel in copacabanna. My flight is at 1AM. The shuttle list 19h as the last one. What do you think a taxi cost and how long will it take? THX:)

At the hour, it might take about 30-40 minutes. Taxi fare could be around R$50.
